Sybilla: The most beautiful, long-haired, tufted turtle!
Article by Manolis Vorrisis
We met little Sibylla when we inspected a colony in Talanta, Syros. Two very good friends from England were systematically feeding the colony. They had met Mrs. Voula, who looked after the kittens. Mrs. Voula was afraid of little kittens, so the animals were unfamiliar with people. When we crossed the road and saw the animals, a little kitten started running down the steps in fear, causing him to tumble down the last 10!

We met little Sibylla when we inspected a colony in Talanta, Syros. Two very good friends from England were systematically feeding the colony. They had met Mrs. Voula, who looked after the kittens. Mrs. Voula was afraid of little kittens, so the animals were unfamiliar with people. When we crossed the road and saw the animals, a little kitten started running down the steps in fear, causing her to tumble down the last 10! She hid behind an old air conditioner. When we went to find her, we expected it to be phobic and aggressive. But things were not like that! The little girl was amiable and sweet. She got used to it quickly and is temporarily hosted in a home until she finds her forever family.
Sybilla is the most beautiful, long-haired, tufted turtle! She is crazy about petting and cuddling and can sleep for hours on top of people, never stopping to purr. But her true joy comes from playtime. She eats all her food and plays like crazy with any string, ribbon, mouse or ball that comes her way, bringing endless fun and laughter to her surroundings!
She is very comfortable, and even though she is small, she hardly ever complains! Of course, she whines when we enter her room and wants cuddles: she gets up on her two legs and waits for hugs!
Fun Fact
She listens to “Syvilla”, “Spirdouklis” and “Partsaklos”.
