Little Patousas was rescued by our album “The Yard Cats” photographer, Stelios Papadopoulos. She saw him next to a supermarket in Tinos, wandering around as if lost. “The cars would melt him,” he said when he brought him to the Veterinary Clinic of Tinos. He stayed there for a couple of weeks and then made the journey of his life in the company of Ursulina and Patrick, his roommates: they came to Syros, where they were welcomed by Peigatiko. Patousas is a delightful creature, full of life and love. He adores playing with his friends, and his favourite pastime is cuddling. He’s known to do somersaults and dance with wild abandon, and his love for food is evident in his plump, contented belly!
Patousas, named for his extraordinary feature, boasts 22 fingers and 22 claws. This is a remarkable deviation from the norm, as cats typically have 5 toes on each front foot and 4 toes on each back foot, totalling 18. Patousas, however, has an extra toe on each foot, making for a grand total of 22 fingers!
Fun Fact
They are not like other cats in any way. First, the paw thing. Second, his eyes: as if taken from another feline. And, thirdly, his coat: like a hedgehog.
